It's so cool when Christmas and New Year’s fall on a day of the week that allows for a long, extended weekend!
Looking back at 2007, I feel very fortunate. I love where I work , my family and friends are close by and everyone is healthy and doing well. I also feel I came closer this year to making my songwriting dreams come true, thanks to valuable help from mentors and friends here and in Nashville.
In fact, I have some infectious melodies bouncing in my head right now, and I’m looking forward to having the positive energy from being with family and friends to translate into another song.
I’m not sure why, but over the past five years, I’ve been most productive writing songs between the months of December and March. So, I’m feeling optimistic about the prospects of creating an up-tempo, “feel good” song.
Speaking of feel good songs, if you’re like me, one of the best parts of Christmas is the music. Some of my earliest memories are of my mother singing, “Away in a Manger.” I would ask her to sing it again and again. I also like “Greensleeves” and all the music from “The Nutcracker Suite.”
E-mail me and let me know what your favorite Christmas song is, and I’ll post the results.
Merry Christmas! Thank you for supporting my music!
